Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about subscribing, paying, grievances, and using the 369signer.com desktop utility (PDF Sign, XML Sign, IMG 2 PDF, and signature validation) at 369signer.com.

What is the official website?

The official 369signer.com subscription portal is https://369signer.com. Subscribe, pay, check your status, register grievances, and download your Signer package only through this website.

What is 369signer.com?

369signer.com is a desktop utility that lets you digitally sign PDF and XML documents using your Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). It also includes IMG 2 PDF to combine images into a PDF, automatic signature validation when you open already-signed files, and tools to password-protect PDF copies. You subscribe at 369signer.com, pay per sign, and download a personalized Signer package after verification.

The service is operated by an individual (not a company). Any surplus from subscriptions is used for charitable purposes only.

How much does each digital signature cost?

The current rate is 50 paisa (₹0.50) per sign. You choose how many signs you need when subscribing. The minimum purchase is 100 signs per new subscription or renewal/top-up.

How do I subscribe?

Visit https://369signer.com, fill in your name, mobile number, number of signs (minimum 100), and a 6-digit PIN. Accept the declaration, continue to the payment page, transfer the amount to the displayed bank account, then enter your UTRN, upload your payment receipt, accept the non-refundable payment declaration, solve the captcha, and submit your payment proof.

What is the captcha and where is it required?

To protect 369signer.com from automated abuse, you must solve a simple math captcha before submitting certain forms. A captcha is required when you:

  • Submit payment proof after subscribing
  • Register a new grievance
  • Track an existing grievance

Enter the numeric answer to the math problem shown. If you cannot read it, click the ↻ icon next to the question to get a new one.

What is the 6-digit PIN used for?

Your PIN protects your subscription and grievances. You use it along with your mobile number on the Check Subscription page to view status and download your Signer package. The same PIN is also used to track grievances registered with that mobile number.

How long does payment verification take?

After you submit payment proof, an administrator verifies your bank transfer. You can check your status anytime using your mobile number and PIN on the Check Subscription page. You will be able to download the Signer once your subscription is active.

Are subscription payments refundable?

No. All subscription payments made on 369signer.com are non-refundable. Please verify the number of signs and amount before submitting your payment proof.

How do I register a grievance?

Visit the Register Grievance page and provide your name, mobile number, category, subject, and a detailed description. You may optionally add an email address and up to five supporting documents (PDF, JPG, or PNG, max 5 MB each). Create a 6-digit PIN, solve the captcha, and submit.

After registration you receive an 8-digit tracking number (for example, 00000001). Save this number along with your PIN — you will need them to track your grievance.

What grievance categories are available?

When registering, choose the category that best matches your issue:

  • Payment — issues related to bank transfer or payment proof
  • Subscription — activation, sign count, or subscription status
  • Technical — problems with the Signer desktop utility or signing
  • Other — anything not covered above

How do I track my grievance?

Go to Track Grievance and choose one of two options:

  • Mobile Number + PIN — lists all grievances registered with that mobile number
  • Tracking Number + PIN — looks up a specific grievance using the 8-digit number from your confirmation

Solve the captcha and submit to view full details including status, admin remarks, and any attachments you uploaded. You can also download your supporting documents from the status page.

Which operating system is supported?

At present, the 369signer.com desktop utility supports Windows OS only.

Why does Windows say “Unknown publisher” when I open the EXE?

Windows shows that warning when the EXE is not signed with a commercial Authenticode code signing certificate from a Microsoft-trusted CA. This is different from PDF/XML document signing with your DSC, and different from Java jarsigner — neither of those make Windows trust an EXE publisher.

Until a code-signing certificate is purchased and configured on the portal (so each downloaded package is Authenticode-signed), you can still run the app by choosing More infoRun anyway. After code signing is enabled, the publisher name will appear as 369signer.com (SmartScreen reputation may still take a short time to build).

Can I sign documents without internet?

Yes. After your Signer package is downloaded and activated, signing is performed locally on your computer. Sign usage is tracked securely within your licensed package. The desktop utility may connect to the portal occasionally to sync balance after renewal.

What can the 369signer.com desktop utility do?

The Windows Signer includes:

  • PDF Sign tab — open multiple PDFs, place visible signatures by dragging boxes or finding text placeholders, invisible or sign-all-pages modes, custom signature appearance (including drawn signatures and images), certificate details and expiry warnings, password-protect PDF copies, and automatic signature validation when opening already-signed PDFs (with Signature Details)
  • IMG 2 PDF tab — add images, choose layout (one image per page, custom pages with shared page numbers, or all images on one page), adjust brightness/contrast/saturation and colour themes, preview the PDF, and convert to a PDF file
  • XML Sign tab — open XML files, apply enveloped XMLDSig signatures with configurable options, validate signatures automatically on open, and view Signature Details
  • Subscription tab — balance, renewals, and a digitally signed local audit log
  • Preserved signing preferences, collapsible sidebar sections, and header colour themes

Signing and document processing happen locally on your computer. Your DSC private key and files are not uploaded to 369signer.com for signing.

Can I sign XML files?

Yes. Open the XML Sign tab in the desktop utility, select your certificate, open an XML file, configure signature options if needed, then click Sign XML. The utility creates an enveloped XMLDSig signature (SHA-256). Each successful XML sign uses one subscription sign, the same as PDF signing. You can open already-signed XML to validate it and, if needed, add another signature.

Does the utility validate existing signatures?

Yes. When you open a PDF or XML that already has digital signatures, the utility validates them automatically and shows a compact status banner. Use the top-right Signature Details icon for signer certificate information. You can also place additional signatures on an already-signed document; new PDF signature fields use unique names so they do not clash with existing ones.

How does IMG 2 PDF work?

Open the IMG 2 PDF tab in the desktop utility, add image files, and choose a layout. Use Custom pages when you want only some images on the same PDF page (edit the Page # column). Adjust images if needed, preview the result, then click Convert to PDF.

Conversion is available only when your subscription is active and you have remaining signs (at least one). The conversion step itself does not consume a sign; placing a DSC signature on the converted PDF does, like any other document.

After conversion you can choose Sign PDF to open the new file on the PDF Sign tab immediately.

Can I password-protect a PDF?

Yes. On the PDF Sign tab, use Password protect PDF… in the Document section to save a password-protected copy of the PDF currently open in the utility. This is separate from digital signing — it sets an open password on the file copy you save.

How do I renew or buy more signs?

When your pending signs reach zero, use Renew Subscription in the desktop Signer or buy additional signs from Check Subscription on the portal. Each purchase requires a minimum of 100 signs. After payment verification, new signs are added to your total balance.
